George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, are expected to return to the White House later this month to be honored by President Barack Obama with the unveiling of their official portraits that will hang at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The White House confirmed on Friday that the Bushes are slated to revisit their Washington home of eight years on May 31 for a rare joint appearance between the current and past president.

Additional details about the event, first reported by The Dallas Morning News, will be released in the next couple weeks, and we've put in a call to Bush's Dallas office as well.

It could also provide an interesting interaction between Bush and Obama, whose re-election campaign continues to remind voters of the economic troubles the Democrat has made worse when he took over from Bush.

Bush has shied away from politics since leaving office in early 2009. And despite his recent reluctant Romney nod, he's made a special point to avoid commenting on Obama or any other part of the current administration, unlike Democratic predecessors.

The former president's only previous high-profile visit to the Obama White House was in early January 2010, when he and Bill Clinton joined the current president for a meeting on Haiti earthquake relief efforts.

Bush has started delve more deeply into policy issues of late, especially in connection with his presidential center that's slated to open in Dallas next spring.

Look at obammie and slick willie's faces, they know they are they are in the presence of a TRUE AMERICAN, they shrivel next to George Bush a TRUE AMERICAN PRESIDENT!

The real headline should have been, "Bush Returns to White House for Hanging".
