Isaac Aguigui, the Army private and alleged ringleader of a plot to assassinate Barack Obama and "take over" Ft. Stewart in Georgia, apparently served as a page at the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minnesota.

Aguigui, according to Georgia prosecutors, financed a plot to kill the president, take over Ft. Stewart and poison apple orchards in Washington state with a $500,000 insurance settlement he got last year after his pregnant wife's death.

Does anybody remember the outrage at Janet Napolitano when the following report from the Department of Homeland Security came out in 2009?

“The document on right-wing extremism sent last week by this department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis is one in an ongoing series of assessments to provide situational awareness to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies on the phenomenon and trends of violent radicalization in the United States,” Ms. Napolitano said in her statement.

Finally, look how the press is handling this incident.  Did anyone note the benign headline from the following Reuters article, “U.S. soldiers killed two to shield anarchist plot: prosecutor”?

Why isn’t the headline something along the lines of “Assassination Attempt Against President Obama Thwarted”?  Is it because the president is black?  Or is it because the soldier's first name isn't Mohammed that this story is being overlooked?
