|October 05, 2012||Unemployment Falls to 7.8%||no comments|
The U.S. economy added 114,000 jobs in September, with the unemployment rate falling from 8.1% to 7.8%, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.
The labor force rose by 418,000 jobs, while the labor force participation rate was little changed at 63.6 percent.
The July jobs report was revised from 141,000 to 181,000, and the August jobs report was revised from 96,000 to 142,000.
The number of unemployed persons, at 12.1 million, decreased by 456,000 in September.
This is great news about the US economy with the lowest unemployment rate in 3½ years and confirmation that President Obama's economic policies are resolving the problems inherited from the previous Republican administration. Furthermore, the unemployment rate would be approximately 1% lower if the Republican House of Representatives had not obstructed the American Jobs Act that the president proposed in 2011.
