Bad day blogging

It looks like things got a little out hand again this weekend.

Numerous comments and even a few blogs were deleted.

If you feel your comment or blog should not have been deleted — sorry, there is nothing that can be done. It is gone.

Having deleted about 400 comments that either insulted someone, accused someone of something unjustly or were just insulting — I am out of patience.

Everybody needs to take a deep breathe, relax and return to a more civilized state of mind.

I have not deleted nor suspended any accounts – yet.

Keep it clean from now on and we can all let the last few days fade to a distant memory.

Graduation photos now online
by Beeville
Jun 01, 2009 | 669 views | 0 0 comments | 9 9 recommendations | email to a friend | print | permalink

Friday was a busy day here – as it was for many of you out there.

About 250 seniors from Beeville, Skidmore and Pettus adorned their robes, positioned their mortar boards and prepared to walk the stage.

With all three graduation ceremonies in one night, we had to have a writer at each. Gary Kent was covering Beeville, while Bruce Harper made the drive to Pettus and Jason Collins stayed to cover Skidmore-Tynan.

We have uploaded some of the photos from each of the graduations to our slideshow area. We invite you to take a peek by clicking on our videos/photos section.

We have now added a "police/ courts" section for Bee County online. This will include the arrests and sentencing for the county.

The link can be found under the home-link of the Bee County tab. This is the same area where you find the sports, farm & ranch and education sections.

If you missed the Bee County Junior Livestock Show, don’t worry, we are continuing to upload photos today, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The most recent photos are from the market and breeding goat competitions. You can expect to see some hog judging photos coming online soon. And the grand and reserve photos with the buyers will appear later this week.

So check back daily to see if you recognize anyone in the photos. Who knows? It might be you or your youngster in the slideshow.

Follow this link to see the photos.

Rosemary Stacy of Goliad checks the overall appearance of an apple pie entered into this year's Homemakers Show. Rosemary and her husband Bobby also helped judge foods at junior shows in Robstown, Refugio, Cuero and Goliad this year. "She's the cook; I just know what tastes good," Bobby said.

*Update:* the problem we were having with comments not showing up on articles seems to be fixed.

We're aware there's some sort of glitch in the software re: comments. We've notified our software provider and hope to have it cleared up shortly. – Admin.
