Rosemary Stacy of Goliad checks the overall appearance of an apple pie entered into this year's Homemakers Show. Rosemary and her husband Bobby also helped judge foods at junior shows in Robstown, Refugio, Cuero and Goliad this year. "She's the cook; I just know what tastes good," Bobby said.

The Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show began this Monday as entrants in the Homemakers portion began bringing in their items.

Throughout this week we will have a steady stream of photos and information about the show.

Check back often to see the photos and read the results. See the first of the photos, and the rest as they come in, on the videos/photos section of this site.

While you are here, upload some of your photos to our user section of the site. Click here to go directly to that page.

A link has also been included on the left side of the Bee-Picayune homepage.

*Update:* the problem we were having with comments not showing up on articles seems to be fixed.

We're aware there's some sort of glitch in the software re: comments. We've notified our software provider and hope to have it cleared up shortly. – Admin.

Changes to mySouTex.com
by Beeville
Jan 09, 2009 | 543 views | 0 0 comments | 9 9 recommendations | email to a friend | print | permalink
Due to recent posting we have changed the commenting system on mySouTex.com.

Initially we had hoped to allow people to comment without logging in with a free account. Because of a series of racial remarks and profanity that had nothing to do with the story, we are asking that people now create free accounts before logging in.

While this does require you to enter an e-mail, we don’t intend to use this information for anything nefarious. This is merely being done for tracking purposes to ensure that the forums are kept family friendly.

We hope that you understand this change and will continue to comment on the articles. Without you, the readers, this site is a one-way conversation and that is not our wish.

*Setting up a free account*

For those unfamiliar with the system of creating a login, simply click here and follow the onscreen instructions.

Next time you wish to comment, you will simply enter the username and password you selected and your comment will post.

*Other uses of a free account*

While you are setting up your free account, why not start a blog. This is a great way to let others know your thoughts and opinions on topics that interest you.

Think of a blog as a diary that you are sharing with the rest of the world.

One of the other uses is it allows you to post a classifieds online without coming into the office. You still have to pay for the add, but you can do it from the comfort of your own home.

We here at mySouTex.com look forward to reading your thoughts and comments.

If you have questions or problems creating your free account, please e-mail media@mysoutex.com and we will help out.

The Bee-Picayune took 73 photos of the Western Week parade last weekend. We posted the photos online at www.mysoutex.com, the Bee-Picayune's website. But we need names of the people in the photos. Can you help? If you recognize someone email me, Scott Willey, at editor@mysoutex.com or call me at 358-2550, ext. 122. If I'm not there, just leave a message with the names. Or blog back in this spot. We would sure appreciate any help you can give us. Thanks,

Posting news from other sources
by Beeville
Oct 13, 2008 | 562 views | 0 0 comments | 13 13 recommendations | email to a friend | print | permalink
We are asking those of you wishing to post articles from other newspapers or online sources not to post the entire article.

You can include a summary of the article, which can include your opinions, but then add a link to the article.

Articles by many publications are copyrighted and this could constitute a violation of that copyright.

Anyone with questions or concerns can e-mail media@mysoutex.com.
