CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will hold an informational/organizational meeting Monday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. at the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library. CASA is asking interested citizens in Bee, Karnes and Live Oak Counties to come to this meeting and find out more about serving as special advocates and/or board members. For more information call Starr Bauer at 361-362-8959.
CASA for Children is a network of community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in courtrooms and communities. Volunteer advocates—empowered directly by the courts—offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care.
