Notice to Section 3 Residents and Business Interests
The Town of Bayside has received a Community Development Block Grant “CDBG” funding for a construction project. The Town of Bayside is inviting individuals and businesses to certify themselves as Section 3 eligible by registering with the Mayor, the Section 3 Coordinator. Section 3 Residents must reside in a Public Housing unit, or be a low or very-low income person residing in the area of CDBG-funded project and be interested in seeking employment on CDBG-funded projects. Businesses may be designated as Section 3 eligible if 51% or more of the business is owned by Section 3 Residents, at least 30% of permanent, full-time employees are or have been Section 3 Residents in the past 3 years, or if business commits to subcontract in excess of 25% of dollar award of all subcontracts to Section 3 business concern. The Town of Bayside shall notify registered Section 3 Residents and Business Interests of employment and contracting opportunities related to the CDBG funded projects. Fair Housing, It's the Law
To promote fair housing practices, the Town of Bayside encourages potential homeowners and renters to be aware of their rights under the National Fair Housing Law. Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin in the sale or rental of units in the housing market. The Town of Bayside has adopted complaint and grievance procedures regarding its Texas Community Development Block Grant Programs.
