Stor-It Mini-Warehouses provide Rome and Floyd County residents with close to 1,000 dry storage opportunities from ten different locations across the community.
The St. Simon’s Trading Company, whose current princi-pals are G.H. Riddle, Bill Byington and his son, owns stor-it Will Byington.
St. Simon’s Trading Company acquired the mini-warehouse business in 1993. “It pretty much runs itself,” Will Byington said. Cindy Strom has been the office manager for the company for the past 14 years and oversees day-to-day operations from the company’s offices, 6 Chieftains Drive, in West Rome.
Stor-It Mini Warehouses offers a wide range of units rang-ing from the small 5 foot by 5 foot to the large 10 foot by 30-foot unit. A number of the mid-sized 10 feet by 15-foot units are available in a climate-controlled atmosphere.
The company recently acquired new software that allows clients to pay for the rental units on line, without ever coming in to the office. Obviously, the company does accept all major credit cards as payment.
Clients on a 24-hour, seven-day per week basis, except for the East Rome location, can access all of the companies units.
In conjunction with the Stor-It business, the company also runs Island Title Pawn LLC from the same location at 6 Chief-tains Drive.
Mary Stone serves at the general manager for the title pawn operation, which specializes in serving older model ve-hicles, and high mileage vehicles that some of the other title pawn shops tend to shy away from.
Stone is a veteran of the title pawn industry and was able to bring many of her former customers with her when the business was started early in 2010.
Both Stor-It Mini Warehouses and Island Title are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Satur-day from 9:00 a.m. until noon. For additional information, contact Stor-It Mini Warehouses and Island Title at (706) 234-5106.
