Cody Alford got his start in the information technology business the old fashioned way. When he was 11 years old, his computer was broken, and so was his arm. wWile sitting around the house waiting on his arm to heal, he figured out how to fix his computer.

He’s been working on computers ever since. Tecka was a home-based business for Alford’s first five years. As the business outgrew his home, he was able to find the right storefront location at 1800 Shorter Avenue, where the business has been located for the past two years.

Alford and two full-time assistants do a variety of computer repair work, both in-house and on-site. He is also able to assist with networking issues, creation of websites and just about anything associated with information technology work.

Tecka also specializes in computer camera systems, with special emphasis on surveillance camera operations.

The most typical problems with computers involve viruses that are transmitted via the web or e-mail systems. Broken laptop screens and keyboard issues are all very common and easily fixable.

Ingredients to Alford’s success include creativity, finding ways to make personal or business computing the most efficient; dependability, finding long term solutions to com-puting problems; and finally support, being there when the customer needs help the most.

Tecka is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
