Separate sealed bids for “WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS 2013” for Live Oak County (TxCDBG#712199) will be received at the County Auditor’s Office, Live Oak County Courthouse (301 Houston Street, George West, TX 78022) or can be mailed to Live Oak County Auditor’s Office (P.O. Box 699, George West, TX 78022-0669) until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013. Then on Monday, February 11, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., at a regularly scheduled Commissioner’s Court meeting, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after the 5:00 p.m. on February 7, 2013, will be rejected and returned to the bidder unopened.
The project will consist of the furnishing and installation of approximately 18,500 L.F. of 6” PVC Class 200 waterline, 525 L.F. bore of 12” steel casing with 6” PVC Carrier Pipe, 75 L.F. of bore 6” PVC Class 200 waterline without casing, 200 L.F. 12” Steel Casing with 6” PVC Carrier Pipe laid in open trench, one (1) ton of ductile iron fittings, 16 each of 6” gate valves and boxes, four (4) each of 2” gate valves and boxes, service reconnections and other appurtenances.
The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Specifications, Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond and other contract documents may be examined at the office of KLEIN ENGINEERING, INC., 8611 Botts Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78217 (210-828-7070, fax 210-828-7076). Copies may be obtained at the office of the Engineer upon a non-refundable payment of $60.00 per set. There is an additional $10.00 non-refundable mailing fee for each set.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety. A certified check or bank draft made payable to the Owner may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the above scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid and to reject any or all bids.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirement as to the conditions of employment to be observed and to the fact that not less than the Federally Determined Prevailing Wage Rates, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture and contained in the contract documents MUST be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
Attention is called to General Conditions 141: “Restrictions of Public Buildings and Public Works Projects”. The bidder certifies by the submission of its bid that it:
1. Is not a Contractor of a foreign country included in the USTR list.
2. Has not or will not enter into any subcontract with a subcontractor of a foreign country included on the USTR list.
