INVITATION FOR BIDS
Refugio County W.C.I.D. No. 2 will receive bids for the “Mission River Boat Ramp Improvements” until 2:00 p.m. on September 27, 2013. Sealed proposals will be addressed to Refugio County W.C.I.D. No. 2, O.G. Randle – Vice President, 808 Commerce Street, Room 104, Refugio, Texas 78377. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on September 27, 2013 at the Refugio County Court House, 808 Commerce Street, Refugio, Texas 78377.
Major items of work include the following:
This project consists of installing approximately 217 feet of bulkhead in accordance with the contract documents, specifications, and plans. All material on this project must be certified Buy American.
Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file for review at the County Judge’s Office, County Courthouse. Copies can be obtained from the office of LNV, 801 Navigation, Suite 300, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408, (361) 883-1984, and will be forwarded to prospective bidders or suppliers upon payment of $40.00 with the Engineer, LNV, for each set of documents obtained. If mailed, an additional separate non-refundable fee of $10.00 will be required from all prospective bidders or suppliers to cover shipping and handling charges. The payment represents reproduction costs and is non-refundable.

A bid bond by an acceptable surety, in the amount of 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to Refugio County W.C.I.D. No. 2 or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin.

Bids may be held by the County for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
