NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR PROPOSED COUNTY ENERGY TRANSPORTATION REINVESTMENT ZONES
NUMBER ONE AND
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 2:00 p.m. on December 27, 2013, a Public Hearing will be held by the Refugio County Commissioners Court (the “County”) in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Refugio County Courthouse, 808 Commerce Street in Refugio, Texas 78377 to receive comments from interested individuals regarding the creation of “County Energy Transportation Reinvestment Zone Number One, County of Refugio” and “County Energy Transportation Reinvestment Zone Number Two, County of Refugio” (the “Zones”) and the benefits of the Zones to the County and to property in the Zones. The Zones are intended to collect an ad valorem tax increment to promote one or more transportation infrastructure projects in areas affected directly or indirectly by increased oil and gas exploration or production in Refugio County. Creation of the Zones will not change the ad valorem tax rates applied to property located within the Zones.
The proposed Zones shall be located entirely within the County, further described as: Zone One comprising an area along Suntide Road between its intersections with U.S. Highway 77 and Toups Road; and Zone Two comprising an area along Welder Road south of its intersection with Farm-to-Market Road 2441. Additional information concerning the Zones and their proposed boundaries may be obtained upon request by contacting the County Judge’s office at (361) 526-4434.
All interested citizens are invited to attend this Public Hearing and to speak for or against the designation of the Zones and/or their boundaries.
