Invitation to Submit Request for Qualifications (RFQ)
For Contract City Attorney
NOTICE: The City of Goliad is seeking Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) for a Contract City Attorney to be appointed by the City Council. The City of Goliad (population 1,908) is a General Law Municipality with a “Council-Manager” form of government. RFQ’s shall be submitted and must be clearly marked

and may be mailed or hand delivered to Larry Zermeno, City Administrator at 152 W. End St., Goliad, TX 77963, until Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 5:00 PM in the office of the City Administrator. The City of Goliad reserves the right to reject any and all RFQs.
The City Attorney is responsible for providing legal advice and services as needed by the City; familiar in legal fields relating to municipal government matters i.e. land use, development law, state & federal employment law, finance law; represents the City in litigation, disputes and controversies brought by or against the City; prepares and/or reviews legal documents i.e. ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds, leases, etc; works with outside legal counsel on assigned matters; represents the City as prosecuting attorney for municipal court; and attends City Council meetings and other public meetings as assigned.
Candidates for City Attorney must be a graduate of an ABA accredited law school, member in good standing and licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas.
