There were 32 high schools competing in the 19th Annual Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend High School Welding Contest in Corpus Christi. Five students from Jones High School competed against 75 students in plate welding and 42 in pipe welding. Above left – Students at Thomas Jefferson Elementary were just a few who were treated to performances by the Moreno Middle School band recently. The band visited several BISD schools to give 5th and 6th graders a taste of what the MMS band is about. The band will hold instrument “tryouts” from April 22-May 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the band hall.
