Above left – Students at Thomas Jefferson Elementary were just a few who were treated to performances by the Moreno Middle School band recently. The band visited several BISD schools to give 5th and 6th graders a taste of what the MMS band is about. The band will hold instrument “tryouts” from April 22-May 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the band hall. Several students from Moreno Middle School entered the Essay Contest titled, “Why Education is Important.” Sara Casas, a sophomore at A.C. Jones, reviewed the essays with help from Mr. Franco, English teacher at Moreno Middle School, and Mrs. LeBourveau, English teacher at A.C. Jones. She said, “It was difficult to pick only three from each grade as they were all excellent papers, but after reviewing them, we were able to pick the winners.
