Students in Karnes City Junior High School Science teacher Sandra Yanta’s Life and Wellness class proudly display the box loads of items collected for fire victims in Bastrop. Mrs. Yanta’s first and fourth period elective classes, through a drive dubbed “Badgers Love Bastrop,” have been heading up the collection since mid-September and have extended their effort to Oct. 14. They are accepting monetary donations; personal items such as shampoo, deodorant, lotions, brushes and combs; clothes for women, men and children; shoes; belts; blankets; jackets and coats; and toys.
