A native of Detroit, Mich., Mills graduated from Alma College, a Presbyterian college in central Michigan, with a BA in philosophy. After graduating from San Francisco Theological Seminary, he served churches in California, Minnesota, Illinois and Oklahoma.
After his first wife died, he and their youngest daughter moved to Ardmore, Okla., where he served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church and met and married the Rev. Linda Sherry. After pastoring several churches in Oklahoma, he accepted a call from Island Presbyterian in Corpus Christi, where he and Sherry now make their home. She is pastor of Beeville’s First Presbyterian Church.
This September, Mills will celebrate 40 years in ministry. Between them, he and Sherry have seven children and seven grandchildren. They enjoy boating, fishing and visiting their grandchildren.
