He was born on July 13, 1926 in Simmons to Joe A. Everett and Winnie (Moss) Everett. He married Anna Bell Everett on April 7, 1945. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1948. He worked as a cowboy and rancher before working on oil rigs and refineries in south, east and west Texas and Louisiana. He worked his way up from laying pipeline to operator to plant supervisor, retiring as district manager for Valero Energy. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Helen Harms Everett, his wife and his son, Tommie J. Everett.
He is survived by two daughters: Winnie (Jerry) Turney of Big Spring and Lovie Harrison of Bay City; one son, Al (Kay) Everett, Jr. of Conroe; two sisters Margie (Alan) Wood of Waco and Jo (Hugh) Smith of Temple; one brother, Howard Everett of Pearland; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Eckols Chapel with John Payne. Burial followed at Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy. Memorials may be sent to Gideon Bible Society or the charity of your choice.
