BEEVILLE – Through the Joe Barnhart Foundation, all of the schools in Beeville ISD are participating in the One School One Book program this year, a program in which one book is selected and a whole school reads it. Then students, parents and teachers all have a common conversation pertaining to the book.

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School staff members selected the book The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary this year. On Wednesday, May 9, community members were invited to the campus to read chapter 11 of the book to a grade level. The students enjoyed their visits and enjoyed learning about their careers.

The guests included Bee County Sheriff Carlos Carrizales; Beeville Chief of Police Joe Treviño; Barnhart Trustee Lou Adele May; Bee County Judge David Silva; and Eloy Rodriguez, Commissioner of Precinct 4.
