BAYSIDE - The boil order issued for the municipal water supply on Sunday was lifted Wednesday.

A lightning storm that passed through the county Saturday evening tripped the breakers at the Bayside water plant, according to Mayor Ken Dahl.

“I got a call saying that the water pressure was dropping,” Dahl said.

The mayor rushed to the plant and reset the breakers.

“I don’t think we had any contamination but the pressure was a little below TCEQ standards and we didn’t take any chances,” he said.

Bayside residents were asked to boil their water on Sunday.

Environmental officials took samples and deemed the water safe on Wednesday.
