BEEVILLE – Mayor Jimbo Martinez and County Judge David Silva presented the Chamber of Commerce’s tourism director, Isabel Ramirez, with two proclamations promoting tourism.

National Tourism Week is celebrated every year in May; the dates this year are May 5-13. Tuesday, May 8, was travel rally day, and everyone was encouraged to wear red all day to show their support for tourism. Elected officials are invited to meet and greet customers at the Pantry East and West stores today (Wednesday) from 9 a.m. to noon.

Tourism is sweet, Ramirez said. Stop by the chamber office on Friday for cupcakes and punch being served all day. For more information on these events, contact the Chamber at 358-3267.
