KARNES COUNTY – Two special holiday events are planned to help Karnes County residents welcome the holiday season.

This Saturday, Dec. 1, the Karnes City Chamber of Commerce is hosting Christmas in the Park at the Karnes City Park with booths offering gift items for sale and an opportunity for kids to take photos with Santa.

There will be a basketball free throw shooting tournament for kids in grades one through eight.

Prizes will be given to the winners in each age bracket.

The fun in Karnes City gets underway at 11 a.m. and continues through 3 p.m.

Santa is expected to arrive for photos at 2 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce is hosting Christmas in the Park at Joe Gulley Park in Kenedy with Santa, Christmas Caroling, refreshments, entertainment, the lighting of the park and fun.

This special holiday event in Kenedy will begin at 5 p.m.
