Residents here reported finding a little less than an inch of water in their gauges Friday morning. Most said they found about seven-tenths.
But residents living south of the city had even more.
One resident who lives near Skidmore said he found 1.5 inches of rain in his gauge.
Some residents on the north end of the city got only a few drops or no rain at all.
In the extreme southern end of the county, employees at the Bee County Co-op in Tynan reported receiving .07 of an inch of rain.
What rain that did fall was too late to do the crops much good.
Some farmers have already been cutting and baling their corn and milo because they simply are not going to produce any grain this year.
