Cubs improve to 4-0 in district with 20-14 win

The Goliad Middle School eighth-grade football team inproved to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in district play with a 20-14 win over George West on Oct. 25.

Orion Hosey returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown. Nielon Reitz scored on a 15-yard run up the middle.

Ricky Waer scored the final TD on a 1-yard run.

The Cubs had strong running by Cameron Boggess, Reitz, Hosey, Aurthur Ellis. Strong defensive was played by Bradley Warrick, David Camacho, Reitz, Hosey, and Chance Burhart.

The seventh-grade Cubs lost 44-14. Nathan Oliver scored two TDs.

The offensive line was led by Justin Harrell, Caleb Dominguez, Josh Garcia, Brandon Soto, Tristian Liguez, Antonio Perez, and Dalton Dornburg.

The eighth-grade Cubs beat Marion 38-12 on Oct. 18. Boggess had TD runs of 60 and 10 yards. Waer, Ellis, and Warrick also had touchdowns.

Defensive standoiuts were Reitz, Brandon Luna, Blanca Guerra, Rhett Davis, Boggess, Hosey, and Colton Martini.
