Elmo John Hartman was born April 22, 1926, to Leo & Pauline Hartman.

He passed away on May 11, 2012, after a short illness.

He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Hazel; his second wife, Lorraine; his parents; brother, Tom Hartman; and sister, Katherine Foster.

He is survived by his children, Evonne Anderson, Yorktown, TX; Debi & Bobby Lange, Spring Branch, TX; Paul & Michele Truax, Corpus Christi, TX; and Missy & Sam Morrow, San Benito, TX. He is also survived by his two loving cocker spaniels, Prissy & Mocha. He leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, numerous neices and nephews and lifelong friends.

He loved to hunt and fish and shared his love of the outdoors with his extended family. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Knights of Columbus. Elmo was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Goliad, where he was responsible for the changing of the time and setting the bells to ring.

He was employed at Dupont in Victoria, retiring after 31 years. He was a rock hound and spent many days gathering rocks, cutting them and then polishing them into stones. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Elmo was a kind, gentle soul that was always willing to help anyone who needed it. His sweet smile and kind words will be missed.

Visitation was open on Sunday, May 13th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Goliad Funeral Home. A Rosary was recited at Immaculate Conception Church in Goliad at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2012.

The funeral was held on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. with burial following at 3:30 in Three Rivers, Texas.
