Evie Dean Taylor, 93, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2012. She was born on June 11, 1919, in Rockport, Texas, to John William and Flavilla Violet (Brundrett) Glasson. She married John Wilbur Taylor on July 20, 1939, and they made their home in Corpus Christi, Texas. Evie Dean was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a choir member. She was also a member of the Beeville Art Association and Beeville Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Wilbur Taylor; daughter, Janet Bowman; and two sisters, Johnnie Lee New and Violet Elaine Rogers.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Kathy Young and husband Richard of Beeville; four grandchildren, Steve Orchard and wife Robin of Calallen, Texas, Keith Orchard and wife Abi of Pflugerville, Texas, Kevin Young of San Antonio, Texas, and Lindsay Young of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; three great-granddaughters, Sydney Orchard of Calallen, Texas, Taylor Orchard and Meridith Orchard, both of Pflugerville, Texas.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, from 6 pm-8 pm at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service to celebrate Evie Dean’s life was held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 10 am at First United Methodist Church. Entombment followed at Beeville Memorial Park Mausoleum.
