The weather was perfect for a day out walking around tasting wines from all over Texas at the Joe Gulley Park.
Among the wineries providing glasses of eclectic wines were the Brahman Winery and the Texas South Wind Vineyard and Winery in Refugio County.
And those of you thinking you know a thing or two about wine, just let the Texas wineries surprise you with their unique blend of fruits and spirits.
People who attended the event were also treated to a wide range of tasty foods provided by the Cardinal Catery company, which included bacon-wrapped chicken, bite-sized BLTs and some of the best fruits and desserts around.
The Mark Odom Band along with Jordan Minor and Tony Taylor provided the soundtrack to the relaxed afternoon under the sun as the attendees chatted about their favorite drinks and their newly purchased wines to add to their collections.
Kenedy Chamber of Commerce Director Christina Benevides said, “Something we wanted to provide was a laid-back environment where people could sip on some wine and listen to some good music.”
And if wine wasn’t your thing, there was something there for everyone.
“We had the beer garden and margarita trailer so we could make it more comfortable for all our guests,” Benevides mentioned.
Though the chamber is meeting late Tuesday to iron out any wrinkles they might have had and when they would hold it again, it’s clear from the number of people who attended that it was a runaway success.
Benevides said, “Our goal was to just give the people in the area an experience they haven’t had before.”
And from the chatter amongst the crowd, it was an experience that they would all partake in again.
