Alexis Foil, a fourth grade student approached Mr. Williams with the idea of a “Change Drive” to help raise money and send it to a school in need so that items such as school supplies and back packs could be purchased. For two weeks, students brought in their spare change and it didn’t take long to fill up all the buckets placed in each of the classrooms. Students even surpassed their goal of one thousand dollars by collecting a grand total of one thousand one hundred thirty six dollars and seventy one cents.
In the fourth grade Mrs. Tobola’s classroom collected the most change and in the fifth grade, Mrs. McKinney’s class was the winner. Finally, in the sixth grade, Mrs. Valverde’s class came out on top. Congratulations to all the people that donated. Once again, the students at George West Elementary proved that “Together We Can All Make a Difference”.
