Three years ago, my van broke down in Beeville. I had packed it up full of kids, cats and belongings and decided to move to Mexico. It was in July and in sweltering heat. A police officer and the manager of a truckstop on the highway paid for my kids, my traveling partner and me to get to Rio Grande City, Texas. A cat owner there took my cats.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to re-claim my cats, van or belongings. I have since come back to Knoxville, Tenn. I have an apartment, job and have regained custody of my kids that I lost because of that trip. I greatly appreciate all the care and kindness the people of Beeville showed me while I was in the middle of my manic breakdown. My gratitude is with all of you.
