This letter is addressed to Tom Ginter, City of Beeville, City Manager:

On Aug. 3, the Bee County Chamber of Commerce received a letter from you notifying us of the City Council’s action terminating the current contract. The notice letter specified that termination would be effective as of Oct. 31, 2011. However, you also notified me by email that the City Council is desirous of working on a possible new agreement. We were quite surprised by the council’s action in terminating the contract without notice, so we are anxious to discuss this matter further.

Because of the urgency of this matter, our board of directors recently met in a special session to discuss the notice of termination letter and its implications. It was the consensus of the board to appoint a five-member committee to represent the Chamber in dealing with the city in an effort to implement a mutually satisfactory agreement prior to Oct. 31.

As you know, finding dates and times to meet can be challenging. Our committee is available to meet with you on the dates of Aug. 19, 30 or 31, at either noon or 5:15 p.m. Please let me know whether any of those dates and times fit your calendar. If they do not, then please specify dates and times which do so we can schedule accordingly. We would ask that you please respond within 10 days of your receipt of this letter.

Sincerely,

Lisa Del Bosque, Executive Director, Bee County Chamber of Commerce
