Pastor Don Taylor recently announced a unique fundraiser for the Bee County Habitat for Humanity, in which a friend offered a challenge as a matching gift for the local affiliate to help with its first house build fund. This donor is willing to match the first $5,000 for all funds raised by the Bee HFH by Dec. 20.

Taylor reported Thursday that a total of $6,297 had been received. “We have met the challenge and the matching check has been requested. We hope that more (donations) will add to the building fund.”

He and Bee Habitat officials encouraged donations from regular church contributors, church freewill offerings, individual donors, organizations and businesses.

Checks should be made to Bee County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 4333, Beeville, TX 78104, or given to Taylor. Any and all gifts are welcome and documentation for gifts over $250 will be provided by the organization for donor’s tax records.
