Handicapped spaces are abused

One day while I was parked at H-E-B I saw a car circling the parking lot trying to find a handicapped parking space. Since there wasn’t an open spot for them, they parked a good distance away from the store.

Inside the car was an elderly lady who had to be helped out of the car and into the store. Parked in one of the handicapped spots were two able-bodied young ladies texting and laughing with each other.

I think people think those signs are put up as storefront decorations. If you are not handicapped, please stay out of the designated spaces. There are elderly and disabled people who need those spots.

I have noticed law enforcement taking care of this problem lately. I want to give thanks to the chief and his officers for enforcing this law.
