BANQUETE – The Skidmore-Tynan Lady Cat softball team had one bad inning and the host Lady Bulldogs took advantage of it for a 10-1 victory last Thursday night.

After a scoreless first inning, the Bulldogs dug deep for three runs in the bottom of the second to grab a 3-0 lead over the S-T girls.

In the home half of the fourth, the game unraveled for the visitors. A few errors and a few Banquete hits helped the home team plate six big runs to take a commanding lead of 9-0.

The S-T Lady Cats plated their single run of the game in the top of the fifth, but could not keep the rally going. Miranda Tagle, Brittany Garza and Leana Gomez each had base hits.

Banquete finished the scoring with another single run in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 10-1 contest.

The Lady Bulldogs pounded out nine base hits and took advantage of nine S-T errors.

The Lady Cats played host to Refugio on Tuesday night and will travel to Odem on Friday to meet the Lady Owls.
