The Lady Trojans played at the Spurs’ AT&T Center and penned the Orange Grove Lady Bulldogs 49-20.
The special venue was a treat for both teams, though the atmosphere was not the raucous, boisterous crowd of the Spurs but it was fun, according to the players.
The Lady Trojans jumped out on defense and never let up, keeping the Bulldogs on a leash, especially in the first half.
The Lady Trojans hit 19 first period points, with several baskets off OG turnovers. The girls from Orange Grove hit for just two points. The second period was slower paced, but the Lady Trojan “D” was just as stout and kept the OG girls scoreless to take a 27-2 lead into the second half.
The Lady Bulldogs added nine points in the third period to cut off one point from the Beeville lead. The Lady Trojans led 35-11.
The Orange Grove girls made another nine points in the final eight minutes, but the Beeville girls added 14 to capture an easy victory.
