So, let us get this straight.

Our so-called American leaders traded five dangerous Taliban leaders for one apparent U.S. Army deserter?

And you call this a foreign policy?

Even many on the left are questioning this most recent turn of events. Several writers in the national media have penned editorials and opinion pieces critical of President Obama’s decision to trade these Afghan prisoners from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

Although the Pentagon has promised an investigation into whether Bergdahl deserted his U.S. post, many of those who served with him have been quite clear and vocal with their condemnation.

In the Los Angeles Times Wednesday appeared this quote: “Directly or indirectly, people died because of what Bergdahl did,” said former Army medic Joshua Cornelison, who was part of a 30-man platoon that included Bergdahl. “He’s responsible for some soldiers’ deaths. They died looking for him.”

Many in Congress, including Democrats, are furious that the White House decided to move the Taliban Five out of Gitmo without notifying them.

“We all agree we are not dealing with a war hero.... There’s a lot to be answered here,” said Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, who added he remained “very concerned.”

“I think that they expected everybody just to fall in line,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

She said the White House failed to anticipate that bypassing Congress would provoke anger on both sides of the aisle, according to the LA Times.

If those Taliban commanders jump right back into the fight and capture or kill more American soldiers, there will be hell to pay for this commander in chief.

Time.com reports, “Asked whether the Taliban would be inspired by the exchange to kidnap others, a (Taliban) commander laughed, ‘Definitely.’”

If Obama was hoping to deflect criticism of his administration from the growing VA scandal, he badly miscalculated. And by trotting out surrogate Susan Rice on the Sunday morning talk show circuit, the White House only brought back memories of the lies about Benghazi.

If he shot himself in the foot with Benghazi, and the leg with the rollout of Obamacare, then where is he aiming with the VA mess and this prisoner swap?

And how much more damage can he inflict on America in the next two years?
