The first half saw both teams move the ball quite well. But once they crossed into their opponents territory, each offense would stall.
The Horns were finally able to find the end zone before the half when Andrew Katzfey hit Hudson Wallace in the back of the end zone with three seconds left in the half. George West took a 7-0 lead.
The second half saw the Tigers explode for 14 straight points in the third quarter.
The Longhorns were able to answer back on their first possession of the fourth quarter. A 5-yard plunge by Wallace tied the game at 14-14.
Later in the fourth quarter, with the Tigers threatening. Lukas Barcak snagged a tipped pass for an interception, returning it back to the Goliad 25-yard line. On the next play, Enrique Nieto blasted up the middle of the Tigers' defense for a 25-yard touchdown run to put the Horns up 21-14.
The Horns defense then held to secure the win by George West and clinched a playoff spot, 21-14 over Goliad.
