Mrs. Alcala was born July 6, 1918, in Converse, La., to Eva (Lathon) and Sostenes Molina. She married Reymundo Alcala in San Diego in 1933, and was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 31, 1959; a son, Richard Alcala; two daughters, Mary Alice Alvarado and Mary Louise Adame; three brothers, John Molina, Fred Molina and Jimmy Molina; three sisters, Isabel Salazar, Rosie Lopez and Mary Molina; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy A. Long of Beeville; a son, Rudy M. (Lupita) Alcala of Beeville; two sisters, Eva (Michael) Yeager of Galveston and Della Torrero of San Antonio; a brother, Sostenes “Toby” Molina of California; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 22, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
