Mr. Cazarez-Rueda was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Jalisco, Mexico, to Antonio Cazarez Leon and Maria Dolores Rueda Juarez. He served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years and was a retired park ranger.
Survivors include two daughters, Maria Cazarez Nava of Beeville and Ana Maria Cazarez Santa-Maria of Spain; two sons, Luis Cazarez Santa-Maria and Rafael Cazarez Santa-Maria, both of Spain; one grandson, Ivan Cazarez Laz; and seven brothers and four sisters, all of Mexico.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating and with full military honors following the Mass.
Visitation continued on Wednesday, May 30, from 4-9 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place in Mexico.
