She was also preceded in death by her husband, Juan Jose Galvan Sr., and one son, Milton Galvan.
Maria graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 1949 and was a retired civil service bookkeeper for 35 years and a devoted member of the cursillistas.
She is survived by three sons; Juan Jose Galvan Jr. (San Juanita) of Pasadena, TX., Rogerio “Roy” Galvan (Mary Helen) and Fernando Galvan (Felipita), both of Beeville, TX.; one daughter, Rose Marie Garza of Goliad, Tx.; two brothers, Encarnacion P. Garza Jr. (Eufemia) of Beeville, TX., Librado Olivo (Vicenta) of Jan Jacinto, CA.; and 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Luke officiating. Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, TX.
Pallbearers were Carlos Garza, Javier Garza, J.R. Galvan, Tim Galvan, Luke Galvan, John Gabriel Galvan and all her grandsons and granddaughters.
