Max Vasquez, 65, of Vanderbilt, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012.

Mr. Vasquez was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Corpus Christi to Francisco and Elena (Alvarez) Vasquez. He married Rosalinda Gonzales on Nov. 23, 1985, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Catholic by faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Elena Vasquez; and a sister, Elodia Ramirez.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalinda Vasquez of Vanderbilt; two daughters, Melissa Vasquez of Vanderbilt and Isabel (Johnny Rodriguez) Vasquez of Corpus Christi; three sons, Max (Mari) Vasquez of Corpus Christi, Manuel (Carmen) Vasquez of Dallas and Andrew (Emily) Vasquez of Beeville; two brothers, Frank (Maria) Vasquez of Corpus Christi and Richard (Trinie) Vasquez of Taft; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock. A memorial service was also conducted there Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Deacon Chris Luna officiating.
