Woodsboro - Mildred D. Horner, 89, died Friday, May 10, 2013 in Refugio County. She was born Oct. 26 1923 in Bonnie View, Tx. to Emil and Hertha Walzel . She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Woodsboro.

Mildred retired from the Woodsboro Farmers Coop. Before working there she was the school librarian at Woodsboro ISD for several years. Mildred was a fabulous seamstress for many many years. She sewed countless hours for her family and also the public for a period of time. Later in years she enjoyed crocheting until she lost her vision. Mildred is survived by her son and daughter-in-law. Gleandean and Carol Horner and son Walter Horner of Woodsboro her daughter and son-in-law Sherian and Tony Hardin of Cypress Texas, Donna and Jimmy Rouse of Victoria,Texas , and Linda Barfield of The Woodlands,Texas. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great - great grandchildren, her sister Virginia McCollough of Frisco, Texas and her brother and sister in law Vic and Mary Lee Walzel of Refugio, Tx. She was preceded in death by her husband W.A. " Dub " Horner, her parents and her brother Lt. Leland Walzel.

Pallbearers are all her grandsons : Scott and Greg Hardin , Darrin and Mitchell Horner, Colby Chappell, and great grandsons Dustin & Dylan Horner. Honorary Pallbearers are her granddaughters. Kim Flierl, Jeri Wilson, Kristy Wilson and Courtney Chappell.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Woodsboro, Dr. Jimmy Arnold officiating . Burial will be at LaRosa Cemetery, Woodsboro,Tx. Services by Moore Funeral Home, Inc

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to : South Texas Childrens Home or First Baptist Church of Woodsboro . Visitation will be Monday evening 6 to 8 p.m.
