Milton Wayne Lemke, Jr., age 70 of Luling, formerly of Guadalupe County, passed away on December 12, 2012. A memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life was held at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. Private interment was held at Lone Oak Cemetery. Wayne was born on April 1, 1942, in Guadalupe County to Milton Wayne Lemke, Sr. and Florence C. Jahns Lemke. He proudly served as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Corrections in Beeville. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sisters, Cathie Lemke Brian and husband David of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Joan Lemke Ortner of Burleson, Texas; niece, Lisa Ortner of Burleson, Texas; nephew, Derek Ortner and wife Angie of Parker, Colorado; great-nephew, Grayson Ortner of Parker, Colorado; uncle, Monroe Jahns and wife Ruth; aunts, Norma Jones and husband Mitchell, Cora Mae Sell, and Mary Helen Schigut and husband Richard; numerous cousins, other family members and friends.
