Former Beeville City Manager Ford Patton is running City Hall again, but this time the job is just north of the Bee County line.
Patton, who resigned as Beeville’s city manager earlier this year after coming to a “mutual agreement” with the City Council, started as city manager of Kenedy on Wednesday morning.
Patton, who worked for the city here for more than 31 years, said he learned last week that he had been selected to fill an opening as the head of Kenedy’s city staff.
The 16-year veteran of Beeville’s city manager’s office said he applied immediately after learning of the vacancy in Kenedy and met with the City Council there last Tuesday.
“Kenedy’s involved in a lot of different projects and some development has been proposed,” Patton said.
He expects his duties in the Karnes County community to be much the same that they were in Beeville.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
