Pride Clean-Up day a great success

The 3rd Pride-Clean Up Day this year was held on June 19, and was a a success with 83 loads of trash, 85 loads brush and hundred of tires that were received by 2 p.m.

This result is due to the success of all who cleaned up their properties. Lunch was provided by Brent and Becky Allen with Serco and Pizzarific.

Unify to Beautify would like to thank the City of George West and the following volunteers who took time out of their schedule to make George West a cleaner city to live in: Code Enforcement Officer Chris Carter, City Manager Sandra Martinez, Mayor Sylvia Steel, girls at the City Hall, Ruben, Portifino, Charlie, Adolfo, Jesse, Gabe, Ronaldo, Ron, Ben, and AJ.

Unify to Beautify — Chairperson Linda Lee, Diane Geffert, Lupe Verstagi, Cindy Robertson, Grace Wilson, Sue Connor, Alexis Bennett, Earlyn Tompkins, Sue Holland, and Kathy Campbell

Street Rovers — Harold Underdown, Chuck Campbell, Richard Cortez, Gerald Corona, Tyler Davis who brought in 10 loads of trash.

Special thanks to Kathy Campbell and her two boys Darren and Rory for cleaning up the vacant lot across from Super S.

The success of this beautification project is due to all the volunteerism from the community to make George West a cleaner city to live in.
