IRVING – Because of unexpected circumstances, the Steve Clarkson Field General Quarterback Camp the Travis Quintanilla was going to attend was postponed. Instead he will be attending the camp once it is rescheduled. Quintanilla said he thanks everyone who has helped in anyway to make it possible for him to attend the camps has was invited to. In the meantime, Quintanilla attended other camps.

On April 6, he participated in the Elite 11 Quarterback camp in Irving at the Dallas Cowboys Training facility. Along with a dynamic warmup, the quarterbacks also did some position drills, routes in the air, and 1 on 1 and 7 on 7 competitions.

On April 7, he attended the Nike Football training camp in Allen at Allen High School Stadium. After warming up, the attendees listened to experienced coaches, players, times on the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and measured medicine ball throw distance. Also, they did position drills, 1 on 1, and 7 on 7 competitions.

Travis said although there were similarities at each camp, there also were differences. He learns new methods and techniques at each camp, which he plans to use to better himself.

The highlight of this weekend, according to Quintanilla, was getting to talk one on one with Johnny Manziel, 2013 Heismann Trophy winner.
