All classes are offered on a first-come, first- served basis. Students must obtain an approval form from their counselor to bring to registration. Approval forms for Academic Summer School and Credit Recovery are available in the counselor’s office.
A student may take up to three subjects during summer school. No transportation to or from home is provided during the summer.
Students who wish to earn credit for a new course may enroll in the Academic Summer School Program. Academic Summer School begins June 18 and runs through June 28 (no classes on Fridays). Possible academic course offerings include: English 3, Government, Economics, U.S. History, World Geography and World History. Each academic course costs $25.
Students who have failed a course with at least a semester grade of 50 may enroll in Credit Recovery Summer School. When a credit is awarded, a grade of 70 will be recorded on the transcript. Possible credit recovery course offerings include: English, Spanish, Government, Economics, U.S. History, World Geography, World History, Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry and Math Models. Each credit recovery course costs $10.
All students will adhere to A.C. Jones Code of Conduct and dress code. A maximum of one absence may be accrued per class period. A second absence will result in removal from and loss of credit for the individual class with no reimbursement. Two tardies equals one full absence in that individual class.
