A registration fee of $50 will be required for each participant. Serena Mann will be guest teacher. The workshop will be conducted in the Parish Hall of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
Mann received a bachelor’s degree of fine arts from Texas State University. Before completing the degree, she attended Coastal Bend College, where she began her theater career. She was active in the Beeville Little Theater and also performed in many college productions. She is certified in secondary mathematics and currently teaches for the Beeville Independent School District.
The workshop is designed to build self-confidence on the stage. Children will learn some basics of the theater, such as positions of the stage, body positions, projection of the voice, pronunciation and body language. They will also be instructed on simple makeup and costume design. The workshop will also emphasize the importance of team work and working as a group. The children will be presented in a program demonstrating their accomplishments of the week on Saturday, July 28, at 10 a.m. for family and friends.
