For three years, the Beeville Rosetta Club has organized a spectacular tablescape event with businesses, organizations and individuals contributing to benefit the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library.

The event this year was a huge success thanks to the volunteers who decorated tables with a theme of their choice. The tables were adorned with orchids, teddy bears, cowgirls, Easter Bunnies, birdhouses, clocks, purses, angels, flamingos and much more. The delicious luncheon was prepared by the Beeville Country Club where the event was held.

The guest speaker for the event was Loree Copeland of Galveston. Mrs. Copeland was an avid reader of mystery and suspense novels from an early age. She began writing her own novel of suspense, Amongst the Shadows, several years ago. At the Rosetta event she gave an inspirational presentation relating to how she came to be a writer. She stressed that, by using one’s own creativity, one can achieve many of the dreams that are held inside of us all.

Sponsors for the event included: the Joe Barnhart Foundation, H-E-B, the Hilton Hughes family, Outlaw Cattle Company, Rockin’ L Ranch, Hogue’s Jewelry and The Lodge at Shorty’s Place; and table sponsors: L2 Ranch, Bill and Kathy Stockton, Florette E. Spires CPA PC, Kremco, Pantry Stores, Presbyterian Women, First National Bank, Elegance Decor and Park-Breidenbach Properties.

In addition, a live auction was held containing items such as a weekend getaway and spa package, a Raviani purse and Vahan bracelet, and a dinner for 12 hosted by a local resident. These proceeds will be donated to the library.
