LOUISIANA — Ruby Jewel “Dump” Hopkins, 78, of Greenwell Springs, La. formerly of Woodsboro died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1934 to Leslie and Eddie “Worlds” Elliott in Woodsboro.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Lee Hopkins; two sisters, Edna Lucille Elliott and Mary Jo Holland.

Survivors include one daughter, Carla Hopkins Freeman and two granddaughters, Shantrice Hopkins and Shawnna Freeman all of Greenwell Springs, La.; and one god daughter, Ruby Harris of Houston.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 9 a.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church in Refugio. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m.

Burial is in Refugio Community Cemetery.

Rocha

REFUGIO — Mary Rocha, 72, of Refugio died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2012. She retired from the United States Post Office after 33 years of service in Woodsboro, ultimately reaching the postmaster level.

Survivors include her husband Reymundo L. Rocha of Refugio; three sons, Felipe Rocha of Austin, Michael Rocha and Mark Andrew Rocha, both of Refugio; one sister, Gloria A. Moya of Refugio; two brothers, Rudy Capistran of Refugio and Richard Capistran of Taft; and two grandchildren.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 3 at St. James Catholic Church.

Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Refugio.

Pallbear-ers were Emelio Perez, Daniel E. Perez Garza, Russell Moya, Matthew Rocha, Ramiro Rocha Jr. and Michael Rocha Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Abel Perez, Ernest Guerrero, Rita Trojcak and Kellie Moya.

Bruchmiller

REFUGIO — Joseph Paul Bruchmiller, 102, of Refugio died Friday, Nov. 30. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was born Oct. 13, 1910, in Goliad.

Survivors include his son Patrick Bruchmiller and his wife Patricia, one grandchild, Jennifer and husband Blake Halbardier of Hondo; and one great grandchild, Jackson Halbardier.

A rosary was recited on Monday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church.

Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Andrew McGuill, Vincent Heard, Larry Bruchmiller, Larry Kolodzey, Robert Dyson and Neil Richie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
