Two new board members and one incumbent are running unopposed for the at-large seats.
Incumbent James Bennett and new members Gabriel Hinojosa and Edward Polasek will serve a four-year term.
Hinojosa replaces Rockie Stautzenberger; Polasek replaces Rick Olivares.
The vote to cancel was unanimous.
At the same meeting, the board also unanimously approved the purchase of two new school buses from Longhorn Bus Sales for $86,900 each.
The new buses, equipped with security cameras and air conditioning, will replace two older buses the district is retiring from its fleet of 12.
STISD Superintendent Dr. Brett Belmarez says the district expects delivery in about two weeks.
